Heavy rainfall in southern Malaga Province is forecast to continue. The State Meteorological Agency has issued an orange alert for the affected area. Reduced visibilities could contribute to flight delays and cancellations out of regional airports, including Malaga-Costa del Sol Airport. Public transit disruptions are also possible in the Malaga metropolitan area, including temporary closure of the metro system.
The Tunisian General Labour Union has called for a nationwide strike by public workers 8 December to protest a planned public sector wage freeze. Major transportation disruptions are possible if the walk-out is not averted, potentially affecting trains, light rail, and other modes of public transport, as well as flights at various airports, including Tunis-Carthage International Airport. Government offices and other public services may close or operate at limited capacity during the strike.
Beijing and parts of northern China endure air pollution and fog amid a rise in temperatures, with flights grounded and outdoor activities cut back. The mainland issued an orange alert for air pollution on Sunday as a new round of heavy smog descended on Beijing and parts of northern China over the weekend. The smog was expected to persist in southern Beijing, Tianjin, Hebei, Shandong, Henan and Shanxi according to the National Meteorological Centre (NMC)
Anti-government protests led by activist groups are scheduled to take place in Buenos Aires during 8-10 December. Protestors plan to gather in the capital’s main square, Plaza de Mayo each day from late afternoon onwards. The largest protest is likely to occur on Saturday 10 December during which travellers may encounter localised traffic disruptions; other major cities across the country could also hold rallies on this day.
