Due to extended strike action by Lufthansa’s pilots, on Wednesday, 30 November, all Lufthansa flights will be grounded between 00:01 and 23:59 local time; Lufthansa Cargo freight service could also be affected. The backlogs are possible following the end of the strike due to repositioning of aircraft and crew.
Over the coming weeks until Monday 2 January 2017, some Network Rail services will be subject to delays or cancellations during improvement works. This will also affect journeys between London and either Gatwick, Heathrow or Stansted Airports during Christmas and New Year.
The international departure terminal at Khartoum International Airport, will be closed from 1 December 2016 for at least 2 weeks to carry out renovation work, according to the latest FCO advisory. Check-in points, bag drop and security for international departures will be transferred to the Hajj and Umrah terminal; arrivals and domestic flights should not be affected.
